October 30 Gambling Corner

St. Louis Blue -1.5 (+145) at home against the Minnesota Wild.

It’s hard to really tell what teams are legit and who are frauds this early in the season with such a small sample size, but I can tell you one thing. The Wild are frauds. Yes they’ve played decent their past few games leading up to last nights loss against the Dallas Stars, but they stink. Last night they let up 6 unanswered goals after leading 3-0 with a little over 5 minutes remaining in the 2nd period.

The Blues are rested and at home, while the Wild are coming off a game the night before where they were absolutely worked and tonight should be no different.

A -1.5(+145) puck line I believe is a solid bet and decent value for a Blues team that should handle the Wild with ease.

Colorado Avalanche (-140) at home against the Florida Panthers.

I’m going to take the Avalanche moneyline tonight against the Panthers solely on the fact that MacKinnon is going to have a multi-point night (I think). With news that Rantanen and Landeskog are both injured MacKinnon is going to put the team on his back and bring them to victory. Shut down defense will be needed accompanied by continued stellar play by Grubauer.

Ride with me.

Time for MacKinnon to Put the Team on His Back

News came earlier today of Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog suffering a lower body injury likely during the team’s Saturday night loss against the Anaheim Ducks. Landeskog now joins Mikko Rantenan (lower body) and Colin Wilson (undisclosed), on Colorado’s injured list who will miss their tilt against the Florida Panthers Wednesday night in Denver.

Although these injured players play key roles in the Avalanche lineup, the team should still continue success offensively with capable players stepping up. MacKinnon will continue to produce, but will need players such as Nazam Kadri, Andre Burakovsky, Tyson Jost, among others to take a step and play an even bigger role.
