Time for MacKinnon to Put the Team on His Back

News came earlier today of Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog suffering a lower body injury likely during the team’s Saturday night loss against the Anaheim Ducks. Landeskog now joins Mikko Rantenan (lower body) and Colin Wilson (undisclosed), on Colorado’s injured list who will miss their tilt against the Florida Panthers Wednesday night in Denver. 

Although these injured players play key roles in the Avalanche lineup, the team should still continue success offensively with capable players stepping up. MacKinnon will continue to produce, but will need players such as Nazam Kadri, Andre Burakovsky, Tyson Jost, among others to take a step and play an even bigger role.
